Last night was one of the biggest fashion events of the year, and I was not disappointed! What I loved mostly about this Red Carpet soiree, were the stars who weren’t afraid to take risks. These leading ladies are known for their beauty, but what really accented their stellar style was the POP of color; and you know how I love to ‘Pop’.

Each of the starlets used a traditional silhouette and updated it with glam jewels and textiles; some even used a touch of sparkle.

It’s my first blog post of the New Year and what a fitting week to rejoin the blogiverse: Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week!

Although we’re in the midst of Winter and I should be looking forward to the Spring/Summer as a designer and as a Chicagoan (you can’t beat Chicago Summers!), I cannot help but now look forward to the 2013 Fall season.

Last Fashion Week, we we’re looking at deep colors in the Hunter and Oxblood family. This go around in NYFW that same color pattern with minimalistic detail is reappearing on the runways in Violet and Navy hues.
